Quick Tip: Take screenshots in Windows XP without installing extra software
Many users believe that you need to install extra software to take screenshots. However, this functionality is built into Windows XP and extra software is not necessary. To take screenshots, all you need to do is hit the “Print Scrn” key (on most desktops “Print Scrn” is to the right of F12) or “Fn + Insert” on most laptops. When this key is pressed an image of the entire screen is copied to the clipboard. To retrieve your image, open up your favorite image editor (the simplest editor is “Microsoft Paint”) and go to Edit >> Paste. You will see an image of your screen that you can save and manipulate.
