Increase your productivity by avoiding the Start Menu and using freeware application “Launchy”

Continually referencing the Start Menu in Windows XP throughout your work day will slow down your productivity quite a bit. There are two excellent alternative ways to launch your programs and keep your productivity level high. The first is somewhat obvious and that is to assign shortcut keys to your programs by right-clicking the icon and selecting properties and entering a “Shortcut key.”
The second alternative is a freeware application called Launchy. After you install and start Launchy, Launchy runs unseen in the background. Then, when you want to Launch an application press ALT + SPACEBAR and then start typing the name of your program. Launchy indexes all of your programs and will make suggestions as soon as you begin typing. See the screenshots above and below.
