CodeJacked Readers’ Top 6 Favorite Tech Sites

In our recent CodeJacked Reader Opinion Poll, we asked about your favorite places on the Web (besides CodeJacked, of course). Thanks to all of you who responded! The results have been tallied, and now I present the first of a three-part series on reader favorites: The top 6 sites where you get your technology news.

A note from the Editor: The response rate to our Reader Opinion Poll was much lighter than we had expected; however, those of you who did respond were generous with full and complete responses. This question regarding the web sites you like to visit is a prime example of where you went all-out — so much so, that Stephanie decided to tally them all up for you. Through your answers, we learned quite a bit about your tastes and interests, and you’ll see future articles reflect that. In the mean time, enjoy the raw data.
By the way, the survey is still open. If you haven’t taken it yet, we would still like to hear from you. Much effort goes into maintaining this blog, and we want to ensure that everyone gets the most benefit possible.

  1. Slashdot (slashdot.org) – One of the Web’s most well-established tech news sources. Slashdot focuses on Linux and open-source news and trends.
  2. Download Squad (www.downloadsquad.com) – Tech blog with posts about new hardware, downloadable software, and other news items from the tech world.
  3. Engadget (engadget.com) – A site that offers news and reviews about the latest gadgets, hardware, and developments in the tech business world.
  4. Gizmodo (gizmodo.com) – This site holds a host of online reviews of new and interesting gadgets and gizmos from the shiny world of consumer electronics.
  5. Daily Cup of Tech (dailycupoftech.com) – With its coffee-inspired layout, Daily Cup of Tech delivers articles, tips, and blog posts concerning various tech-related issues.
  6. CNET (cnet.com) – Massive site full of tech news, product and software reviews, downloads, and tips for everything tech, from computers to digital cameras.

Once again, thanks to all those who answered our survey. (If you haven’t, it’s still there.) Keep a lookout for the next installment in our little Web popularity contest, when I’ll give you the scoop on our readers’ favorite general-interest and news sites.
